Red Squirrel in the Birks of Aberfeldy

Shame about the twig in the wrong place.....this squirrel ran along the ground at least 100 metres from where it was scavenging for food beside the burn, then up this ash tree and jumped from it in to the only conifer in this part of the woodland....it clearly had a very good idea where the safest spot for it would be. You can see just how red it is just now, and how clean and white it's belly is.
