Most tree seeds are only ready to collect in autumn. However there are a couple of exceptions, including Elm, Aspen and here as shown Wild Cherries (or Gean). These are on their way to being ripe and can be collected in July/August, when they turn red like the larger cultivated cherries. You may have to take them before fully ripe so that you get to them before the birds do. They then need to be stored for the winter to be planted in spring. We are experienced woodland advisors with over 80 years of experience between us, and we combine this with a refreshing and pragmatic approach to helping woodland occupiers to work out what they should do with their woodlands and associated open ground. We all have wider skills than just woodland management and can advise on a wide range of farm, deer, river conservation and wildlife management projects. We are happy to hear from other who might be interested in joining us.
